Huizenga Park Reimagined
Tour the Park
Huizenga Park is being transformed into a space that can be enjoyed every day of the year from morning to night. Whether you are a DowntownFTL resident, employee or visitor, the Reimagined Huizenga Park will provide a variety of experiences. Take a tour of Huizenga Park's outdoor rooms and introduce yourself to the new and improved spaces.
Take a Stroll Through the Park's Improvements
Civic Lawn
The central greenspace at the heart of DowntownFTL. Enjoy community gatherings, health and wellness activities, intimate concerts and movie nights, or just relax on the grass shaded by the trees and cityscape above.
Spirit of Fort Lauderdale Fountain
The picturesque fountain signals the entrance to Las Olas Boulevard and the park. A timeless design refresh will create a perfect respite from the bustle of the city with new lighting and cascading jets, and more shade and seating surrounding the fountain.
Las Olas Legacy Terrace
Anchoring the eastern entrance of the park, the Las Olas terrace will mirror intimate seating areas with movable tables and chairs found in European city parks. The shaded terrace will become part of the daily routine for residents and downtown office workers wanting to enjoy a cup of coffee or a quick bite.
Dog Run
As downtown’s unofficial dog park, it’s important that Huizenga Park include a dedicated dog run for our furry friends and their human parents to enjoy off-leash activity in an enclosed, shaded environment.
Moundscape
Not your traditional playground, the moundscape is a series of climbable play mounds that blend into the landscape and can be enjoyed by anyone young or young at heart.
The Deck
Located adjacent to the picturesque Riverwalk, this circular wooden deck is elevated to showcase small performances or allow for people watching along the brick-lined linear park.
The River Terrace
A one-of a kind seating area nestled along the Riverwalk where gentle breezes flow under shade trees as boats small, large and enormous pass by.
River Overlook
Stroll along the Riverwalk as the pathway bends towards the New River and around the stately Bicentennial Live Oak, bringing pedestrians even closer to the water’s edge for a special Fort Lauderdale experience and distinctive river views.
